dr. eric heath
Dr. Eric Heath was raised in southern Oklahoma and graduated from Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. He practiced in Canistota and Miller SD before moving to Winner in 1999. Dr. Heath became a partner in the Animal Clinic in 2000.
When not working, Dr. Heath enjoys hunting, horses, herding and husbanding - not necessarily in that order. He has been married to his lovely wife Becky for a long time. He is not quite sure how long, but it has been a really long and enjoyable time. They have two grown daughters, Emily and Kallista and Becky has one overgrown dog, Cletus.
He is a member of SDVMA, NVMA, AVMA, AABP, SFT and AVC and currently sits on the Merck Large Animal Advisory Board.

Dr. tom covey
Dr. Covey graduated from The Kansas State University with his DVM in 2002. Originally from the Winner area, Dr. Covey returned to Animal Clinic Ltd., in 2005. In 2008, Dr. Covey became a partner in the practice.
Dr. Covey is married to the lovely Amy and has two daughters, Hannah and Faith. They also have six dogs, 2 chickens and one lucky duck.
In his spare time Dr. Covey enjoys eating, napping and moving snow. He is a member of SDVMA, NVMA, AVMA, AABP and AVC.

dr. laura handcock
Born and raised in Western Australia, Dr. Laura joined Animal Clinic Ltd., in 2014. Dr. Laura graduated from Murdoch University in Western Australia in 2009. She worked as a predominately large animal veterinarian in Geraldton, Western Australia for 3 and a half years before moving to the US.
In 2013 Dr. Laura started an internship in Production Animal Medicine at Virginia Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Once completed Dr. Laura moved to Winner to become part of the team at Animal Clinic Ltd. In 2017 Dr. Laura became a partner at the practice.
Dr. Laura is married to Jake who works at Gary's Gun Shop 2. They live in Winner with their two dogs Daisy and Perla and a cat called Carl. In her spare time Dr. Laura likes fishing, swimming and travelling the world.

Dr. RACHAEL MILLER
Dr. Rachael joined Animal Clinic Ltd., in June of 2019. She went to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and Iowa State University 2+2 Veterinary program. Dr. Rachael spent time interning with Animal Clinic Ltd., during her second and fourth year of Veterinary school.
Dr. Rachael is originally from Springfield, Nebraska. She is married to Ross and they have a son, Taos. Ross & Rachael have 3 dogs- Rawly (Catahoula), Rillo (Miniature Dachshund) and Boo (Kelpie). In Dr. Rachael's free time she enjoys taking decks apart, fencing, and playing soccer. The two are excited to be in the Winner community!

Dr. john voegeli - Emeritus

Dr. John lives in Winner with his wife Bobbie. They have two sons, Sam and Jace. In his spare time John enjoys hunting, scuba diving, fishing hiking and is a classic car enthusiast.
Dr. John has served on the S.D. Board of Veterinary Medical Examiners, the SDVMA executive board, the advisory board to the S.D Animal Disease Research and Diagnostic Lab and on the S.D. Animal Industry board. He was also awarded S.D. Veterinarian of the Year in 2012.
Dr. John retired in January 2020. He still visits the clinic when he is in Winner. He has chosen to retire to the Black Hills of South Dakota.
